First Baby Shower!

Skyland Baptist threw Sommer and Jon their first baby shower this past weekend.

The gifts were plentiful and, as you can tell from the pictures, so were the laughs!

The Skyland ladies were so sweet and generous to baby Josiah.

GOODBYE TO SUMMER 2009 - IT'S BEEN REAL

I was thinking about the summer this morning in church.  It was officially over, I guess, on labor day.  It's now taboo to wear white shoes or carry a white handbag.  And as we watched 3 football games yesterday, I am settled to the fact that summer is over, and fall is officially here.  I'm so thankful for the good times that came with summer 2009, and that I was still here to be a part of them.  So, as I pack away my summer clothes and shoes, and change the landscape of the dining room table,  I look forward to the fall and winter.  We'll be adding another member to the clan in a few weeks, can't wait!!!  But I wanted to take a few minutes to reflect on this summer's activities, and thank my family for being so much fun!!!

ha! I found this picture today and it made me laugh so hard!

Dad always does the "PonyTail Flip" to us when we have our hair up.

This picture is so funny because Sommer is all calm and poised and beautiful and Dad looks so amazed at the awesome PonyTail Flip he has just created above Sommer's head. Hilarious!

That's so funny that we all called Dad and sang that same version of "Happy Birthday" to him!

Dad, I'm so glad you got to have a Nine-tastic birthday. It was on 09-09-09 and you stayed up until 9:09. That's crazy!

We love you so much! I especially love what a good story-teller you are, how creative you are, and how much you care for all of us.
