LOCAL MISSIONS

I LOVE HANGING OUT WITH JON'S YOUTH, BUT WHEN BROOKE AND GRANT ARE LEADING WORSHIP, IT'S JUST AN EXTRA BONUS. THE MISSION TRIP TO MEXICO WAS CANCELLED. I GUESS THE UNREST, DRUG TRAFFICKING, ETC UPSET SOME OF THE PARENTS. JON, NOT TO BE OUTDONE, PLANNED A "LOCAL MISSION" WEEK, AND HAVE EMPLOYED THE YOUTH TO WORK AT THE HOMES OF THE TUSCALOOSA ELDERLY AS THEIR OUTREACH. AFTER WORKING VERY HARD, THE DAY WAS CULMINATED IN A WORSHIP SERVICE WITH COMMUNION SERVED. GRANT AND BROOKE LED WORSHIP, AND DESPITE A BROKEN STRING, IT WAS VERY BEAUTIFUL, AND THE KIDS REALLY SEEMED TO ENJOY IT. WHAT A BLESSING THOSE KIDS ARE!! (MINE AND THE SKYLAND BOULEVARD BAPTIST YOUTH)

I could never even catch the pic of the explosion, but Brooke was skilled enough to capture my dad watching the show like a little boy in wonder. It was the first time I'd ever watched fireworks with my dad.
